Red Dragon Flagmakers

We are a micro manufacturing social enterprise business in Swansea and Somerset with a family business ethos with what we believe to be a dynamic 'can-do' attitude. We are a Limited company run as efficiently as most Limited private companies but our profits are invested back into our local communities through up-skilling in sewing skills and produce among the best quality traditional sewn flags, printed flags, banner and bunting available on the world market.  We also print and sell quality knit polyester flags and textiles made IN-HOUSE, ON-SITE and in our Swansea workshop.

We believe strongly in the ethos that people buy from people (no jargon or long words here) and on the flag side of things - no matter how tricky your flag, banner, bunting and flag poles requirements may appear, we're here to help the best we can.

We also make and retail our own range of pants (Glory Pants), slippers (Bapu) and eco ethical organic playthings for little children (Noonoo) as well as making to short order for other businesses under their own brand names and sub contracting to larger companies who have need of our skills from time to time.

We are interested in building relationships with our customers to ensure they keep coming back time and after time and are delighted to show off the investment purchases they buy from us. Because that is what UK-made quality products are when they are well made - investment pieces for the present .... and the future.

At our core we are traditional sewn flag makers with workshops and offices in Somerset and Swansea, supplying all market sectors including military and maritime - and in 2014 the Official Supplier of ceremonial flags to the NATO Wales Summit 2014 in Newport.  We sew flags and we print among the best quality flags available on the market (no economy 'cheap' flags here).

We are the ONLY flagmaker in the UK incorporated and run as a social interest company - which means that all profits go back into the personal and professional development of the staff who are all trained in house. Sales enable profits which support our recruitment of additional people to train for sustainable employment with the outcome of a positive contribution to local, regional and UK economy.

Red Dragon Flagmakers is borne out of a family company manufacturing traditional sewn flags for over 45 years.  Our elected President Robin Ashburner founded the original business in 1969 when he made the flag for the investiture of Prince Charles at Caernarfon Castle. This makes us one of the most established flagmakers in the UK.   Under our registered trademark and trading name, Red Dragon Flagmakers, Robin is past President of the Flag Institute and one of the few flagmakers in the World to have received the recognised international award for services to the flag industry (FIAV).  He is also a Fellow of the Federation.

Red Dragon Flagmakers has a huge social conscience with inclusivity and opportunities for all at its heart and all the company's manufacturing and marketing communications project our social values and ethical commitments. Our customers tell us our products are of the highest quality available in the World market - we agree.

We upcycle and recycle ALL of our fabric offcuts sending nothing to landfill. We comply with a strict environmental policy, equality and diversity strategy and are a equal opportunities employer. We ship our goods using recycled bags and boxes where possible and otherwise use 'new recycled packaging. We correspond electronically with minimal use for paper and print.

We have capacity to fulfill any size order with sufficient notice and have plans to expand our production capability still further in partnership with strategic partners throughout the UK.

We work closely with other SMEs to fulfill projects requiring flag poles, embroidered flags, maintenance, installation and repairs - no job is too small and everything we do is with quality, durability and integrity of product in mind.  We are distributors for DanoMast flagpoles.

Please do call us if you have any queries - we're here to help.
